Discrimination

I hate that Jim has to run away from his home, where he grew up probably and where his family could be. But since he's an African American he either has to be a slave for his entire life, be killed or run away to be free.

  1. It is bad that Jim had to run away from his house but he didn't want to be a slave anymore he wanted to be free so the only option he had was just to run away and be free.

  2. I disagree, I don't think it's safe to assume that Jim grew up on that property or that he had family with him. Although, I do agree that it is upsetting that Jim had to run away in order to have a better life and that he thought being on the run all the time possibly facing death would be better than being sold in New Orleans.
