I think it's kind of funny that mark twain made huck dress up like a girl in his book. I think that it got a little too tense in the book with the thought of people finding huck or Jim or finding the dead man , and also with the snake bite . I think that mark twain wanted to lighten the mood of this part of the story because he still wants his audience to laugh and not be serious all the time. I think he also did it because it was a way for the story to keep going because huck and Jim would be in the blue about all the things going on in town .
I agree with what you said it was funny when Huck dressed up as a girl. Mark twain did lighten up the mood and they story got more interesting.

ReplyDeleteI agree 110% because the mood was extremely heavy seeing as he had just faked his death and Jim had just ran away so everything needed to be put in a lighter mood
ReplyDeleteI feel like Jim must done a really good job in cleaning up and dressing Huck in order to make him look like a girl because even though a guy his age has the same voice as a girl it would take a lot to make it accurate.
ReplyDeletePerhaps the style back then was for a boy to wear a dress, but I highly doubt it. If you think about it , Huck was poor so maybe that's the only thing he had to wear. Or maybe as you said, Mark Twain wanted to brighten the mood in the story, either way it's rather humorous.
